Shannon Anderson Alt

Shannon Anderson Alt joined MCIC Vermont in November 2022 as SVP, Chief Legal and Development Officer and became MCIC’s Chief Legal and Administrative Officer in March 2023. In this role, she is responsible for compliance, corporate legal, governance, product support and coverage, communications, corporate services, human resource management, and information technology and security.

Prior to joining MCIC Vermont, Shannon served as Vice President, General Counsel, CCO & Corporate Secretary at Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company. Shannon’s extensive legal career within the insurance industry began in Dykema Gossett’s Insurance Practice group and continued as corporate counsel with Swiss Re and Jackson National Life prior to joining Amerisure’s executive leadership.

During her 20+ year career, Shannon has had responsibilities for functional areas including legal, corporate secretarial, compliance, internal audit and vendor management with cross functional responsibilities in human resources and enterprise risk management. She plays a key role within executive leadership in strategic initiatives as a business partner to her colleagues.

Shannon received her bachelor’s degree (BA) in Public Administration and Criminal Justice from Western Michigan University and her Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University, both with honors. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and admitted in the Federal Court. Prior to joining MCIC Vermont, Shannon served as Chair of the Michigan Property & Casualty Guarantee Association and in several committee capacities in various national and local insurance trade associations.
