Matt J. Simon

Matthew J. Simon joined MCIC Vermont in January 2020 as a Financial Consultant and shortly thereafter became the Company’s SVP and Chief Financial Officer. In October 2020, he was named MCIC’s interim Chief Executive Officer and was subsequently appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in April 2021.

Prior to joining MCIC Vermont, Matt was Chief Financial Officer of Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company, a Super Regional insurance company. During his 20 years with Amerisure, Matt led numerous functional areas and regularly led strategic initiatives to advance the Company’s mission. Prior to joining Amerisure, Matt led the insurance industry audit practice for the Detroit office of Ernst & Young.

Matt recently completed nine years as a Member of the Board of Directors for Special Olympics of Michigan, where he served as Vice Chair of the Board, Chairperson of the Finance Committee, and member of their Executive Committee. He is also a member of the Michigan chapter of the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association where he has held various leadership roles, including two terms as President.

Matt received his bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
