Christopher D. Heckman
Chris Heckman joined MCIC Vermont in March 2020 as Chief Risk Officer and soon after advanced to Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In recognition of Chris’s leadership and expertise, the Board selected him as the next President and Chief Executive Officer, a role he assumed on January 1, 2026.
Prior to joining MCIC, Chris was the Vice President of Hospitals and Alternative Risk at CNA and was responsible for strategy and direction of day-to-day operations of the Hospital and Alternative Risk line of business as well as leadership within CNA’s Healthcare Segment. Previously, Chris held underwriting roles at Zurich and COPIC, as well as broker responsibilities at Kahl Insurance Services. His career has been dedicated to the healthcare professional liability space serving hospitals, physicians and other medical professionals. Chris holds numerous industry accreditations including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Claims (AIC), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Reinsurance (ARe), Associate Surplus Lines Insurance (ASLI) and Associate in General Insurance (AINS).
